Application

The British Consulate General - New York is located on 845 3rd Avenue in New York City.  It represents the UK government in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Fairfield County in Connecticut.  Cambridge Architectural supplied a unique wall cladding design for the interior.

Function

A customized version of Cambridge's Ridge mesh pattern (Heavy Ridge 3003S) was chosen.  The surface of the mesh was blast-etched with the Union Jack (UK national flag) image.  Three different areas within the building were covered.  Area 2 was the largest with a 55'8"W x 7'11"H etched mesh wall.  Areas 1 and 3 were considerably smaller (14'W x 8'H and 13'1"W x 8'H respectively).

Benefit

The etched mesh material brands the space and the durable, stainless-steel material will remain looking pristine for many years to come, with minimal maintenance.
