Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is a high-profile healthcare institution located in the heart of Orlando, FL, where it serves guests of many of the area's theme parks and attractions. Because of its clientele, the facility was designed to look more like a retreat than a hospital. Dr. P. Phillips was built to house state-of-the-art medical technology and to provide high-quality care for Orlando's residents and tourist population – all in a setting that is clean, welcoming and fashionable.
Cambridge Architectural’s woven metal fabric system exudes sophistication in the hospital's atrium, helping to portray the organization's patient care philosophy.
The architectural mesh system specified for Dr. P. Phillips Hospital simultaneously serves two specific functions in the building's atrium. Cambridge's mesh panels divide the space between the lobby and its connecting stairway while distilling and reducing the glare of natural light, which shines through the south-facing glass wall. An optimized and defined space is achieved without having to build walls.
Cambridge’s systems always combine superior aesthetics with high-quality performance, and often eliminate the need for additional materials. In Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, the virtual indestructibility and lifecycle of the mesh facade reduces maintenance costs, and assures that there will be no need for replacement materials. Additionally, Cambridge's flexible metal fabric panels were specifically engineered to ensure an issue-free installation of a highly effective and engaging physical boundary within the interior space. Cambridge Architectural is an active member of the USGBC®.
