Application

The 388-seat Theater Lab, built in the Kennedy Center’s former black box theater space, is home to “Shear Madness,” the comedy whodunit now in its 27th season. Cambridge Architectural supplied mesh for the theater entrance signage and for the perimeter of the venue’s rear wall.

Function

Cambridge Bead stainless mesh was welded onto angled framed panels for the theater’s entrance sign. Cubist mesh fabric was chosen as an effective visual light terminus on the perimeter of the theater’s rear wall. Cambridge designed a custom track system to hang the mesh.

Benefit

The mesh provides an elegant design element for theater signage on the Kennedy Center’s Terrace Level. In the theater, the mesh masks overhead components and serves as a temporary cable tray for production.
