Stainless steel fabric from Cambridge Architectural creates a unique design feature on the new eight-level, 820-space parking garage at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital in New Jersey.
Included in the first phase of the medical center’s redevelopment, the project consolidated hospital campus parking into one location.
CallisonRTKL selected Cambridge’s Mid-Balance metal mesh for the garage. Senior Associate Vice President Mark Palmer said they were looking for a material with a clean and modern aesthetic that still blended well with more traditional elements like brick and pre-cast concrete on the rest of the campus.
“The Cambridge Architectural mesh allowed us to add a design element to the prominent corner of the garage that had a rhythmic and layered effect during the day, and a bold and transparent effect at night when it is lit via color-changing LED’s.”
Cambridge wove 13 panels – 4,600 total square feet of metal mesh with 50 percent open area – for the project. The company’s Eclipse attachment hardware was used to secure the mesh to the garage façade.
