Metal Mesh From Cambridge Architectural Screens New ProMedica Garage While Framing Facade’s Video Screen
Stainless steel fabric from Cambridge Architectural provides screening for the new ProMedia headquarters garage on downtown Toledo’s nautical mile along the Maumee River. In addition to offering fall protection and natural ventilation to meet code requirements, the mesh frames a video screen on the garage façade where news updates, film screenings and concert projections are shown.
The six-floor, 773-space garage at Promenade Park provides parking for company employees and visitors. Nearly 100 panels of Cambridge mesh appear on the garage’s northeast façade.
A custom Rope pattern of metal fabric was woven for the project at Cambridge’s plant on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
HKS architects selected the metal mesh for the ProMedica Garage.
“We needed to maintain an open and naturally ventilated garage, so we were looking for a screening material that would stay taught and provide a relatively smooth and consistent finish,” said Anthony Montalto, HKS Director of Design. “Cambridge Architectural mesh was a high-quality, sleek solution to clad that portion of the garage and provides a beautiful backdrop to the video screen and riverfront park.”
